Chris you’ve chosen a very weird video for the paper this week. But I must say it’s very unique and as well as confusing. The person that was trying to sell the product started off very happy and at the end began talking in rage.
The home made commercial that you have posted reminded me of the popularity of an iPod. The character (sales man) that stood on the stage with pretend audience on the background and a loud echoing microphone to make the stadium look big and broad reminded me of nonsense.
Seems like everybody own an iPod these days. People spend far more time on it listening to music or audio podcasts than they do using it to watch TV or movies. Never the less, an apple iPod is an amazing device for all the multi feature it offers. The guy that appeared in this commercial, referred as Michael boobleg (If you caught the video you will know what I am talking about), was trying to push of the release of the new apple product innovative revolution of online technology called the ieverything, compared to an iPOd. He explained that the ieverything could be an online email device, internet browser, calendar, address book and a cell phone. I liked the idea of the made-up (future) device until the point when Michael said “ieverything can also be your date book and everything…,” and starts rubbing his male parts. That was disgusting.
When Michael advertised the product to the audience, it looked like he was trying to sell more of a sex partner than an online technology revolution- “ieverything will satisfy your need in the bedroom” explains it all. I also personally thought that Michael brought up racism when he brought up how the ieverything could be a dangerous dictator of a small Malaysian country. Why would he want to bring the word “small Malaysian!”
I freaked out when Michael quoted “the ieverything is also a murderer okay!” He changed from the happy mood to a serial killer-look mood. I really did not understand the purpose of the ending when he started laughing in rage and the fire that started burning on the background
